SilverSneakers

The Christian County YMCA is a proud participant in Healthways SilverSneakers Program.  This comprehensive fitness program addresses the needs of the Medicare (65+) population.  SilverSneakers members of a sponsoring health plan receive a basic membership that includes the opportunity to participate in the SilverSneakers group exercise class.  Instructors: Geri Niemann & Jan Bruns

Tae Kwon Do

A great activity to do with your family!  Lisa Abernathy teaches this class under the tutelage of Grandmaster Thomas E. Perry.  Tae Kwon Do aims to achieve the following tenets:  courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit.

Triple Circuit

A combination of step aerobics, cardio kickboxing and small hand weights provide for a complete workout.  Class will build cardiovascular endurance, tone muscles and burn calories.  Great music and fun change of pace makes this class a winner!  The last fifteen minutes are geared for abdominal and bottom exercises.  Instructor:  Gay Wilhour

YMCA Walking Program

Enjoy the comfort of walking indoors at the YMCA anytime the facility is open.  This program is open to anyone 18 years of age and older.  Participants will have access to either the Wellness Center track or the Gymnasium track.  Participants will also have access to the restrooms.

ZUMBA!

Zumba is a low impact aerobic class based on Latin dance moves.  This class appeals to people from 18-80 years.  No dance experience is necessary.  Participants will work to their ability level.  Wear loose clothing and tennis shoes or jazz shoes.  This class is so fun, you won’t even realize you are working out!  Instructor: Susan Suggs

Happy Feet Mileage Club

The YMCA invites all youth members to take part in the Happy Feet Mileage Club.  This self paced program is designed to get children more active and help combat childhood obesity.  Each child will be given a chain on which they will accumulate “foot beads” for each mile walked.  Get your children started today!
