We are currently looking for:

Aquatic Coordinator (Part-time leadership)

Position Summary:

Develops, organizes and implements high quality, member-focused YMCA aquatic programs that are adequately staffed to ensure quality and safety. Direct (opens in a new tab)s and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete.

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent.
    • One to two years related experience preferred; for example, as an aquatic employee or instructor.
    • Minimum age of 21.
    • Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
    • Completion of YMCA program-specific and trainer certifications.
    • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Deck Supervisor (Part-time)

Position Summary:

Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, slide, and surrounding areas. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and promotes safety in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Builds positive relationships with members and program participants through effective listening and verbal skills and creatively finds ways to connect them to one another and the Y community. 

    • Minimum age of 15
    • Certifications in basic life support or professional rescuer CPR/AED, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration for Aquatics required
    • Child abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date
    • Blood Borne Pathogens Training within 30 days of hire date
    • Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness
    • Must demonstrate Deck Supervisor skills in accordance with YMCA standards

Lifeguard (Part-time)

Position Summary:

Before School/After School Counselor (Part-time)

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Child Care Coordinator, the BS/AS Counselor is responsible for assisting in planning and implementing programs and activities for their group of students. The counselor will work as a collaborative team member with other counselors and support the Child Care Coordinator in creating a successful and engaging before and after school program.

    • Must be a high school graduate or at least 17 years of age.
    • Must be mobile and able to participate in a variety of activities.
    • Must love being with children.
    • Must have the ability to lead, guide, discipline when necessary, and supervise children of varying ages.
