Financial Assistance / State Assistance

At the Y, we believe that financial limitations should not prevent anyone from enjoying our programs. If you are unable to afford the fees, please contact us for an application for financial assistance. Applications typically take two weeks to process and must be completed in full. If you wish to participate while your application is pending, you will need to cover the childcare fees until approval. Note that registration fees are not discounted and must be paid at the time of registration. We also accept payments from Illinois State Funded Agencies. Please contact a case worker to initiate this process:
  • DCFS: 217-824-9649
  • Community Child Care Connection: 217-525-2805 (Applications available at the front desk; you are responsible for submission.)
  • Work Force: 217-824-4838 (Must be a full-time student.)
If third-party assistance only covers part of the week, you will be responsible for the remaining balance. Families cannot receive both State Funded Agency Assistance and YMCA Financial Assistance for childcare programs, but YMCA Financial Assistance can be applied to memberships while receiving State Funded assistance for childcare.
